CEO Suncorp Life
Geoff joined Suncorp in his current role in May 2008 following more than 20 years of property and financial services experience at Lend Lease, MLC and NAB. Prior to joining Suncorp he held senior executive roles in distribution and product management in NAB’s Business Bank, Strategy and Business Development for NAB’s Australia and Asia Region and was prior to that, CEO Retail Investments at MLC.
Geoff has refocused Asteron Life as a life insurance specialist and is driving shareholder value by becoming the leading life insurer to IFAs.
Sean Carroll was appointed to the role of Suncorp Life Chief Risk Officer in February 2014.
Sean has a 26 year history with Suncorp Life and its predecessor companies, originally joining Sun Alliance in England as an actuarial trainee and re-locating to Sydney in 1995 as Product Development Actuary. Sean has enjoyed some diverse roles within the business including Director, Life & Funds Management, Asia and General Manager, Life Risk before relocating to New Zealand in 2004.
Jeremy joined the Suncorp Life family in March 2013 and has responsibility for Financial Accounting and Reporting, Business Strategy and Analysis, Actuarial, Fund Services and Legal.
With over 20 years of CFO and senior managerial experience in Financial Services, covering Banking, Wealth and Professional Services, Jeremy brings with him deep industry insights, proven business leadership, partnering and transformation skills, and the ability to deliver on complex business negotiations with key external stakeholders.
Executive General Manager, Product & Portfolio Management
Tony has been the EGM, Corporate Strategy for Suncorp Group for the last three years. He has been instrumental in reshaping the Life strategy around the customer through his work on Life Company of the Future.
Tony has 12 years experience in strategy consulting at Booz & Company, including senior roles in both Sydney and London focusing on banking and insurance. Tony has an MBA from Harvard (2003) and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from the University of Queensland.
Executive General Manager, Life Hr & Corporate
Amanda Loxsom has over 20 years experience in HR, most recently as EM, Organisational Development for Suncorp Group. With key skills including leadership development, talent management and employee engagement, Amanda is well suited to driving the Customer at the Forefront cultural agenda. She has previously held senior positions at Merrill Lynch, Westpac, ANZ, HBOSA, Lloyds Banking Group and IMC Derivatives.
Executive General Manager, Customer & Service Delivery
Debra’s career over 25 years includes senior positions in sales, marketing, strategy and human resources across the chemical, high tech, and financial services industries. She has led global sales, marketing and operations teams and was responsible for delivering “Customers First” in her time at GE.
Executive General Manager, Distribution (Acting)
Mark Vilo has worked in the insurance and financial services industry for over 20 years, and has held a number of senior executive roles across product, marketing, underwriting and sales during this time.
Prior to joining Asteron Life, Mark was Head of Key Account Management for ING, where he oversaw ING’s key account relationships and service-offering development for aligned and open market licensees. In that role his specific focus was on superannuation, investments and insurance. He joined this business in 2005 as head of their life risk product and marketing team.
Mark’s depth of experience across all aspects of the life risk market has equipped him with the focus and discipline needed to execute Asteron Life’s strategy aligned to independent financial advisers (IFAs).
Executive Manager, Brand, Marketing & Corporate Affairs, Customer Distribution, Suncorp Life
Amanda Crews was appointed Executive Manager, Brand, Marketing & Corporate Affairs for Suncorp Life in June 2013. In her role, she is responsible for driving brand and product awareness, consideration to buy, and telling our story to the market, be that to end customers, advisers, industry or investment analysts. Brands include Asteron Life, Guardian Advice and Standard Pacific.
Amanda joined Asteron in 2006 as a consultant to develop its first internal communication strategy. She returned in 2007 to manage the wealth management integration as part of the Promina/Suncorp merger. She joined Suncorp full time as its Executive Manager Corporate Affairs Suncorp Life in 2008.
In roles between starting her career as a journalist with the Canberra Times, to leading the Brand, Marketing & Corporate Affairs team, she has held executive roles with Austrade and Optus. In 2001 she established her own communication consultancy Ucomm, with a client list including Qantas, IAG, Commonwealth Bank and Medicare Australia.
Amanda is an awarded communications professional who brings a wealth of strategic communications experience to the role, a passion for Customer at the Forefront and a proven ability to develop leading communications capabilities.
