Felicity Cooper named the 2018 AFA Excellence in Education Award-winner

Felicity Cooper, founder of Queensland based Cooper Wealth Management is the winner of the 2018 AFA Excellence in Education Award, announced today at the Association of Financial Advisers National Adviser Conference.

Daniel Waller was delighted to present the Award to Felicity together with a $25,000 Kaplan education scholarship in recognition of her commitment to continuous learning.

He said, "For 11 years, Asteron Life has proudly supported this award. We're delighted to recognise Felicity Cooper who through her education, continues to improve her skills and demonstrate uncompromising care for her clients.  This in turn helps strengthen the overall profile of the advice profession."

Felicity has a solid foundation of further study holding a Bachelor of Business degree in Accounting, a Diploma in Financial Planning, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and recently completed her Master of Financial Planning. Adding to this impressive list is her desire to undertake both SMSF specialist accreditation and a Bachelor of Psychological Science.

Felicity said she had a personal interest in psychology as a way to deepen her understanding of why people make the financial decisions they do.

At the Award ceremony on 11 October the judges called out Felicity’s significant accomplishments in making a difference to her local community through the practical application of financial knowledge and expertise.

Accepting the award, Felicity said: "To do the best for clients we always have to be the student and the teacher. There is a lot of change going on, particularly around education in the industry, and I would encourage you all to embrace that change."

The AFA also presented a Highly Commended Award to Brisbane based Caleb Dozzi and a $10,000 scholarship from Kaplan.

Caleb, founder of dozzi was selected from five high-calibre finalists that included Helen Russo from Encompass Wealth, Michael Fox from Main Street Financial Solutions and Dean Loosmore of Lio Adviser Centre.
