We are happy to announce significant improvements to Asteron Life Complete

We’ve enhanced Asteron Life Complete  to improve definitions specifically focused on terminal illness, melanoma and angioplasty procedures.
We’ve made it easier for customers to access this vital cover and for you to recommend Asteron Life Complete with confidence.

These improvements attract no premium increases and apply to both new and existing^ Asteron Life clients with Asteron Life Complete from 1 September 2016.

 

We’ve redefined life insurance

The following table highlights the upgrades for new and existing Asteron Life Complete customers: 

What's been upgraded? Asteron Life Complete now can pay...
The survival period for the Terminal Illness Benefit has been extended.

Where you are unlikely to survive more than 24 months after certification of an illness or condition. This aligns to the Superannuation Industry Supervision Condition of Release if your policy is owned through super.

The Partial Trauma Benefit and the definition of Coronary artery angioplasty have been extended

- the full Trauma Benefit if you undergo a triple vessel angioplasty performed during one or more procedures which occur within a two month period

- a Partial Trauma Benefit for each one or two vessel angioplasty without any time restriction between claims, allowing for multiple Partial Trauma Benefit claims for different angioplasty events 

The criteria for a Melanoma, within the Cancer definition, has been relaxed to now consider a Breslow thickness of at least 1.0mm

If all other criteria is met:

- a full Trauma Benefit or Crisis Benefit where a Melanoma is at least 1.0mm Breslow thickness.

- a Partial Trauma Benefit where a Melanoma has less than 1.0mm Breslow thickness.

^Please refer to ‘Guarantee of Upgrade’ section of the Asteron Life Complete PDS outlining when an upgraded definition will and won’t be considered in the assessment of a claim. 

 

Full details and a complete listing of the updated definitions to the Asteron Life Complete product is available in the new SPDS which applies to new business from 1 September 2016, or the Product Information Update applicable to existing Asteron Life Complete customers whose policies were issued prior to 1 September 2016.
