Asteron Life Complete Income Protection Covers provide you with affordable and comprehensive insurance, with lots of features and benefits that give you more at claim time.

To ensure we can provide cover that suits everyone, Asteron Life Complete has three Income Protection Covers:

  1. Income Protection Plus Cover - our most comprehensive Income Protection cover
  2. Income Protection Cover - our Income Protection cover for just about anyone, also available through superannuation
  3. Income Protection - Accident Only Cover - our basic Income Protection cover, which only covers accidental injuries.

Built in benefits

Asteron Life Complete Income Protection Covers let you work (if you can) 10 hours or less per week while Totally Disabled and we won't reduce your benefit payment - even if you earn income in those 10 hours. Other features include:

  • 3-tier total disability definition for all insurable occupations.
  • Built in benefits against blood born diseases like HIV, hepatitis B and C for medical professional Occupation classes. 
  • A choice of waiting periods to help you manage affordability.
  • Partial payments for when you are partially disabled and your income is reduced.
  • Pregnancy premium waiver benefit - premiums waived for 6 months for women who are pregnant.
  • Cover when and where you need it - 24 hour worldwide cover.
  • Built in claims indexation, making sure your benefit increases in line with inflation
  • Cover that keeps up with your ever-changing needs - you can increase your cover without further medical checks if your situation changes, for example if you have a child or take out a mortgage.
  • Support when you need it most - access support services like rehabilitation, retraining and return to work.
  • Extensive built in benefits with Income Protection Plus Cover including: Unemployment Benefit, Child Care Reimbursement Benefit, Business Rehabilitation Benefit and Crisis Benefit.

Optional extras to help you top up your cover

  • Booster Option that 'boost' your Income Protection payments by 1/3 at claim time for the first three month 
  • Day 1 Accident Option that pays you your total monthly benefit during the waiting period if you suffered a serious accident 
  • SuperSaver Option that allows you to insure up to 80% of your income
  • Child Cover that allows you to insure your child against certain medical conditions like cancer, meningitis etc.
